📄️ Communication Overview
InSched provides a comprehensive communication system for reaching patients through multiple channels: email, text messaging, and a secure patient portal. All communications are tracked and accessible through a unified history view.
📄️ SMTP Setup
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the standard for sending email. InSched must be configured with your SMTP server details before it can send emails.
InSched allows you to compose and send emails to patients directly from within the application. Emails can be sent individually or in bulk using mail merge.
📄️ Email Templates
Email templates allow you to create reusable email content for common communications, saving time and ensuring consistency across your practice's patient communications.
📄️ Text Messaging
InSched integrates with the PatientConnection service to send SMS text messages to patients using the practice's main phone number. This provides a professional, HIPAA-aware communication channel for appointment reminders, follow-up messages, and general patient communication.
📄️ Patient Portal
The PatientConnection patient portal provides a secure online channel for communication between your practice and your patients. It runs as background infrastructure within InSched, automatically managing connections, data synchronization, and secure communications.
📄️ Email Surveys
InSched can automatically send email surveys to patients after appointments or procedures. This is useful for collecting patient satisfaction feedback, follow-up care responses, and practice improvement data.
📄️ Recent Communications
The Recent Communications view provides a unified log of all communications with patients, including emails, text messages, portal messages, and other contact records.
