Chart Sections
Chart sections organize documents within a patient's EMR into logical categories. Every document in the chart is assigned to a section.
Accessing Section Configuration
Select Setup > Edit eCharts Sections from the menu to open the sections editor.
Managing Sections
The Edit eCharts Sections dialog displays a grid of all configured sections:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The section name (editable) |
| Number | Sequence number (read-only, assigned automatically) |
| Inactive | Check to hide this section from selection dropdowns |
| Built-In | Indicates a system-provided section (read-only) |
Adding a Section
Click the Click here to add a new section row at the bottom of the grid. Enter the section name and press Enter or Tab to confirm.
Editing a Section
Click directly on the Name cell in the grid to rename an existing section.
Deactivating a Section
Check the Inactive checkbox to hide a section from the selection dropdowns when adding or editing documents. Inactive sections still appear on existing documents — deactivating a section does not remove it from documents already classified under it.
To view inactive sections when assigning documents, check the Show Inactive Sections option in the Add Note or Edit Document Info dialogs.
Built-In Sections
Some sections are provided by the system and cannot be deleted. These are marked with the Built-In checkbox. You can rename built-in sections but cannot remove them.
