Image Capture

InSched can capture images directly from a camera or webcam connected to the workstation and save them into a patient's chart.

Opening the Capture Dialog​

Select the image capture option from the EMR menu to open the Capture Image dialog.

Video Input​

Select the camera or video device from the Video Input dropdown. The list shows all video capture devices detected on the workstation.

Supported Formats​

The Supported formats list shows the available video resolutions and pixel formats for the selected device. Select the desired resolution and click Fit to adjust the capture window to match.

Capturing an Image​

  1. Select the video input device
  2. Verify the live video feed in the preview area
  3. Click Freeze to pause the live feed and lock the current frame
  4. Review the frozen image
  5. Click Save Photo to capture the current frame

The captured image is saved to the patient's chart.

Tips​

  • Ensure adequate lighting before capturing images
  • Use Freeze to review the image before saving — this avoids blurry or poorly-framed captures
  • Select the appropriate resolution for your needs; higher resolutions produce clearer images but larger files
