Communication Overview

InSched provides a comprehensive communication system for reaching patients through multiple channels: email, text messaging, and a secure patient portal. All communications are tracked and accessible through a unified history view.

Communication Channels

Email

InSched can send emails directly to patients using your practice's SMTP email service. Features include:

  • Compose and send individual emails
  • Mail merge for sending to multiple patients
  • Reusable document and signature templates
  • HTML email with preview before sending
  • Automated email surveys after appointments

Text Messaging (SMS)

Send text messages to patients' cell phones for appointment reminders, follow-up, and general communication. Messages are sent through the practice's main phone number using the PatientConnection service.

Patient Portal

The PatientConnection patient portal provides secure online communication, including:

  • Secure messaging between practice and patient
  • Appointment confirmations
  • Online communication tracking

Schedule Export

Share your schedule through automated email delivery, Google Calendar sync, or Outlook integration.

Viewing Communication History

Select View > View Recent Communications from the menu to see a log of all recent communications. See Recent Communications.
