Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)

InSched can query state Prescription Monitoring Program databases to check a patient's controlled substance history. This supports compliance with state regulations and informed prescribing decisions.

Accessing the PMP Check

Select the PMP Check option from the appropriate menu to open the Check Prescription Monitoring Program Report dialog.

Patient Information

The dialog pre-fills patient information from the selected patient record. You can edit any field before submitting:

Report Configuration

Date Range

  • Report Start Date — Beginning of the report period
  • Report End Date — End of the report period

State Selection

Select one or more states to query. Available states include: AZ, CO, ID, IL, IN, KS, MA, MS, MT, NV, NM, ND, OH, OK, SC, SD, UT, VA, WV, WI.

Use All States to select all available states, or Clear States to deselect all.

Provider

Select the Provider submitting the query from the dropdown.

Submitting a Query

  1. Verify the patient information
  2. Set the report date range
  3. Select the state(s) to query
  4. Select the provider
  5. Click Submit or press F3

The query is sent to the selected state PMP databases. Results are returned showing the patient's controlled substance prescription history for the specified date range.
