Documents
The Documents tab is where you exchange files with your practice: consent paperwork, instructions, photos, insurance cards, lab results, and anything else the practice asks for.
Documents from the practice
Documents your practice sends appear under From the practice. Click Open to view one. Some documents ask you to confirm you have read them — these show an "I have read this" button; until you press it, the practice sees the document as still waiting for your acknowledgement, and you may be reminded.
Each document shows its status, for example New — please review and acknowledge, Viewed, or Acknowledged.
Sending documents to the practice
To send a file, use the upload area: click Choose files, pick up to five files at a time (photos, PDFs, or Word documents, up to 25 MB each), optionally answer "What is this?" with a short note, and click Send to practice.
Files you have sent are listed under Sent by you, each with a status:
- Processing… — the file is being converted to a safe format for the practice; this usually takes well under a minute.
- Could not be processed — the file could not be safely converted (for example, a corrupted file); try re-saving or re-photographing it and sending again.
- Received — the practice has your document.
- Returned by the practice — the practice sent it back, with their reason shown (for example, a photo that was too blurry to read).
Every file exchanged through the portal is converted to a clean, flattened PDF in an isolated environment before staff open it — see Privacy & Security for Patients.
