Views and Customization
InSched provides extensive control over how the schedule is displayed. You can create multiple custom views for different purposes and switch between them instantly.
Default View Behavior
By default, InSched dynamically adjusts the schedule display:
- Days without events are hidden to avoid wasting screen space
- Time ranges expand and contract to show only the hours with events or blocks
- Multiple events at the same time are shown side by side within a column
This is fundamentally different from most schedulers, which show fixed time ranges and fixed days, leading to either wasted space or hidden events.

Privacy Mode
Select View > Privacy Mode to hide patient details from the schedule display. This is useful when the schedule is visible to unauthorized personnel.

Conflict Stripes
Select View > Conflict Stripes to toggle the display of diagonal stripes on events that conflict (two events requiring the same resource at the same time).
Column Organization
When resources are shown in separate columns, InSched provides control over column placement:
- Events with numbered resources tend to appear to the right within a column
- Events with later letters (like Z) tend to appear to the left
- Events with earlier letters (like A) tend to appear in the middle
If you care about left-to-right placement, assign Resource characters accordingly.
