Waiting List

InSched provides a waiting list feature to track patients who are waiting for appointments. This is useful for managing patients who need to be scheduled but don't yet have a confirmed date, or who are waiting for a cancellation to open up an earlier slot.

Viewing the Waiting List​

Access the waiting list from the View menu:

  • Show Waiting List - Display all waiting events
  • Show Waiting Events - Show events currently in waiting status

The waiting list can be filtered by:

  • Date Range - Show patients waiting within a specific period
  • Event Type - Filter by appointment type (e.g., only surgery patients)
  • Patient - Search for a specific patient

Waiting List Display​

Waiting events can be highlighted in the Analysis View to show how long patients have been waiting relative to scheduling goals. See Analysis View for details on the color-coded display.

Managing Waiting Patients​

From the waiting list, you can:

  • View details of the waiting event
  • Navigate to the event on the schedule
  • Schedule the patient when an opening becomes available
  • Use Find First Available to search for open time slots
