Faxes & Practice Documents
The portal handles your practice's faxing — inbound and outbound — and provides a shared document library.
Receiving faxes
Incoming faxes to your practice's fax number arrive in the Faxes list, and a badge in the portal header shows when new faxes are waiting (opening the Faxes page clears it). Each fax shows the time, sender and recipient numbers, page count, and status.
- View Fax opens the fax as a PDF. Like every file arriving from outside the practice, faxes are sanitized before viewing — see Security & Privacy.
- Update Fax Info lets you record who and what the fax is about, so it can be found later.
The practice is also notified of each received fax by email, with a secure, expiring link to view it — so faxes are seen promptly even when no one is watching the portal. Received faxes additionally appear as read-only notes in the sender's Inbox conversation when the sender is known.
The Docs library
Docs is a practice-wide document library: drop files onto the upload area (several at once) and they are stored immediately. Each document shows its name, upload time, and last-modified time, with Display and Download buttons.
Sending a fax
Any PDF in the Docs library can be sent as a fax: click Send Fax, enter the recipient's fax number, and send. To fax something you have on paper, scan or photograph it to PDF, upload it to Docs, and fax it from there.
