Overview

The Practice Web Portal is the browser-based companion to InSched. It runs at your practice's own web address — something like yourpractice.ptconn.com — and works on any modern browser, on any computer, tablet, or phone. Data flows both ways between the portal and InSched through the PatientConnection cloud service, so the schedule, patients, and communications you see in the browser are the same ones your front desk sees in InSched.

Accounts on the Practice Web Portal are invitation-only: a practice administrator invites each staff member by email, and each person sets their own password from the emailed link. See Signing In.

What you can do in the portal​

Unified Inbox. Every conversation with a patient or contact — text messages, email, web chat, and social messaging — in one place, threaded by person rather than by channel. Staff can read, reply, assign, snooze, and close conversations from anywhere. Incoming faxes and phone-call summaries appear alongside. See Unified Inbox.

Patients. Search your patients, review their communication history, documents, and events, and exchange secure messages and documents with patients who use the Patient Portal.

Schedule, Plans, Quotes, and Charts. Practices whose clinical data is hosted on PatientConnection can view and edit the schedule, work with treatment plans and quotes, and view or add chart documents from the browser. Each of these areas is enabled per staff member by the practice administrator — see Managing Staff Access.

e-Prescribing. Providers can open a patient's DrFirst Rcopia chart straight from the portal with Open in Rcopia — see Rcopia e-Prescribing.

Faxes. Received faxes are listed with a new-fax indicator, viewable as PDFs.

Reports. Management reports — periodized analysis of bookings, procedures, and revenue — can be viewed interactively, downloaded as PDF packs, or scheduled for email delivery.

Admin. Practice administrators manage staff accounts and permissions (Portal Access), practice setup lists, and roles and privileges shared with InSched.

Signing in and security​

The portal is designed for healthcare use: passkey and authenticator-app sign-in, office-network awareness, per-user remote access, automatic sanitizing of files that arrive from outside, and a practice-wide audit trail. See Signing In and Security & Privacy.
